February Arizona Trip
Mayflower County Park & Boyce Thompson Arboretum State Park
On the drive to Arizona to see Jared's family we stopped at a county park just north of Blythe, CA on the Colorado river: Mayflower County Park. When we opened the door to stretch our legs and set up our picnic lunch, we immediately spotted a male vermilion flycatcher. We found and identified a number of interesting birds that were new to us.
We also went to Boyce Thompson Arboretum State Park outside Globe, AZ with Jared's family and had a yummy picnic under the cardinals' watchful eye.
Gilbert Water Ranch, aka Gilbert Riparian
We visited Gilbert Riparian for our first time and ended up spending half of the day there and finding over fifty species of birds, many of them new to our life list.
Mesa Park of the Canals
On our way out of town, we stopped to look for birds at the City of Mesa Park of the Canals.
